The 3 performances this past weekend were, to say the least, incredible. It is moments like those last few minutes during the show on Saturday night that remind me why I am still in Band. I'd like to congratulate the entire band and to thank everyone from the bottom of my heart for such a wonderful, awe-inspiring performance.

Well, on to the details. The Blue Devils had an astronomical weekend, pounding out three excellent shows. The football game halftime performance was decent, but by far the superior performance of Saturday was the Mineola Show. The Blue Devils wowed the crowd, and recieved a score of 86.2, to take first place in Division 5. They also recieved the awards for Best Percussion, Best Music, Best Color Guard, Best Band In Show (hmm... did I leave anything out? ;)). On Sunday, at the Hicksville Competition, the Blue Devils placed first in Division 5, and recieved a score of 88.7 (which, by the way, was mis-announced at the competition as an 88.3), Best Music, and Best Overall Effect. All in all, it was a great weekend to be a Blue Devil. Its safe to say that the Blue Devils have reclaimed their title as the Best Band on Long Island.

Congratulations, Blue Devils for your victory at the Sachem competition this weekend. The band recieved a score of 80.6 to take first place in Division 5. The band also recieved the awards for Best Music (Division 5) and Best Marching (Division 5). Pictures (graciously donated by Sean Benett) from the competition will be up in a few days.
